MWRA Pipe Repair May Cause Discolored Water
in Areas of Hyde Park and Milton

On Monday, November 2, 2015, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will be repairing a water main at 129 West St. in Hyde Park.

This work is estimated to take five days to complete and may result in a slight change in water pressure or discolored water in parts of Hyde Park and Milton.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. While safe for drinking, cooking and other uses, please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents near this location should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.

If you have any questions, please call Jeff McLaughlin at 617-305-5762, or MWRA’s 24-hour water line at 617-305-5950.
