MWRA Water Flushing Work May Cause Discolored Water in Parts of Stoneham

On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, MWRA Operations staff will be flushing water Section 29 on Woodland Road between Gillis Pump Station to Pond Street, Stoneham.

This work may cause discolored water in Meters 53 and 138 area (see list below.)

Areas of Stoneham that Could Be Affected

South of Marble Street at Main Street

South of Summer Street from Main Street to Pond Street

East and West off Pond Street to Summer Street

South of Montvale Avenue

South of Franklin Street

Water service to your home or business is not expected to be interrupted. However, you may notice a temporary change in your water pressure and/or temporary discoloration of your water. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeffrey McLaughlin, (617) 305-5762.
